Since my childhood, I never watch cartoons but I changed my habit tonight to watch the Japanese animated historical drama The Wind Rises (風立ちぬ) because I thought I might learn something about the life and achievement of Jiro Horikoshi (1903–1982), designer of the Mitsubishi A5M fighter aircraft and its successor, the Mitsubishi A6M Zero, used by the Empire of Japan during World War II. I never anticipated the movie would last over two hours but it kept my attention because I got emotionally invested in the love affair between Jiro and his girlfriend, Naoko. So as not to include a spoiler, I will say only that I thoroughly recommend the story while I learned almost nothing. It is a good yarn and the animation art is admirable.
