SIC ‘EM! Attorneys for Covington Student Send 54 Letters to Celebrities & Media Ahead of Lawsuits
On January 25th, I wrote that Power Attorney Lin Wood was just gettin’ started with his offense on behalf of innocent-yet-condemned teen Nicholas Sandmann: The media sandbagged Sandmann, but the case against the young man was built on sinking sand (here).
Sandmann’s family gave Lin Wood the go-ahead: Sic! Sic!
Fast-forward past an immediately-resultant apology from Bishop Roger Joseph Foys, and you’ve now got 54 prepared letters to alleged guilty parties. Attorney Todd McMurty has teamed with Lin, and the recipients of their missives include politicians, celebrities, and media organizations; each notice represents a potential lawsuit.
They don’t play.
As reported by the Cincinnati Enquirer:
“The legal counsel representing Nick and his family, Todd McMurtry and experienced libel and defamation lawyer L. Lin Wood of Atlanta, have said they will seek justice for the harm allegedly done to the teen. McMurtry is with the law firm of Hemmer Defrank Wessels and has practiced law in Greater Cincinnati since 1991. He said a team of seven lawyers has been working full-time to review the media accounts of what happened.”
