Participant::President Donald Trump hit back at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday, canceling a planned congressional trip to Afghanistan just moments before Democrats were slated to depart.

Nancy & crew could go commercial – but then they’d have to pay their own way….
The dems need to stay here in the U.S. and get their whuppin’ from folks fed up with their nonsense.

Keymaster::Makes perfect sense to me for Trump to scuttle this trip. It fits in with Putin’s long range plans to destroy the US government. Anyone surprised by this move is not paying attention.
Pelosi and team were also heading to NATO to reassure our allies.
Against the interest of Putin – he wants to isolate US away from NATO.

Participant::Looks like Trump himself wrote that letter. The motherf*cker spelled “Madam” as “Madame”.
yup. Whenever a written communication “from Trump” is muddled and/or incoherent, you can be confident that he wrote it himself.
He knows “all the best words.” Including some that never appeared in any dictionary.
FYI: psychotic individuals are known for their neologisms. And repetitive speech and word finding difficulties, such as he consistently demonstrates, are common among individuals during the onset of dementia.
Addendum: He is also speaking slower and with increased slurring. He is clearly unwell.

You do realize, Gur, that the majority of Americans are against the shutdown and blame Trump, not the Democrats? That must cause a rash in your Depends knowing that Americans are on to your despot wannabe.

There is veto proof bipartisan Senate vote also to re-open the government. It is Mitch who is preventing the voting to happen. Mitch is more guilty IMO than Trump.

Participant::I would agree that McConnell shares blame but I find it difficult to assign levels to either Trump or McConnell above the other. It’s Trump’s shutdown, McConnell is aiding and abetting at least after the fact and maybe before the fact; who knows? McConnell is at the very least Renfro to Trump’s Dracula. Each deserve a figurative stake to their heart.
However, with but a few exceptions, the Republicans in the Senate are abetting this shutdown also by allowing McConnell to prevent votes. It’s way past time for Republicans with any semblance of honor to confront McConnell and demand that he do his job.

Participant::The LWN fake news gang pushes the angle that most people don’t support Pres.Trump’s shutdown – like most of their political propaganda its false. How do they know? Via rigged polls? Liawatha told’em? Nancy & Chucky?
DF lost more credibility by linking ‘Renfro’ with Dracula. Duh, it was ‘Renfield’.
The forum admin advocates for the usage of ‘Madam’ instead of ‘Madame’ – wow, a critical debate of overriding concern for everyone. Yawn……
Two-thirds majority of both House & Senate to override a presidential veto. Highly unlikely that would ever happen….unless the dems counted the votes.
McConnell has probably worked out some kind of deal with President Trump to ignore the babbling & howling coming from the house dems. The senate is going to OK Barr as A.G. – and confirm more of Trump’s judicial nominees. When RBG can no longer be re-animated to simulate being alive, Trump will appoint another Supreme Court Justice – great news for the U.S. and its future.
And the Mueller farce is beginning to unravel…

What a dumb fuck you are. You question polls without benefit of evidence just as your orange lord cites facts that don’t exist. Signs of a fucking fool and a trumptard.
As for Renfield vs. Renfro, oh my god stop the presses! I should wear sack cloth and ashes?
How petty of you, and how typically trumptardish of you. You laugh at Cappy for pointing out the Madame vs. Madam in an official White House letter but you say I lack credibility because of that silly error. How typically hypocritical of you and it certainly reduces any minuscule credibility you thought you had. It would reduce you to the level of twerp but you passed that long ago.

Participant::I know the American Congress over the years has allowed the Executive branch of government to acquire power and authority that was never permitted by the Constitution. For members of Congress to tolerate a president to deny funding a government trip is quite astonishing, given that all expenditure bills are authorized by the legislature. In short, the president lacks the authority to deny spending for Congressional travel. The matter should have been sent to the Republican Supreme Court and that court’s decision, should it contradict Congressional spending authority, should routinely be applied to all future travel by Republican legislators when the Democrats next control the Executive.

Nancy has been wasting taxpayer money on these ‘trips’ for a long time. I’m glad that our President stopped her from shafting the rest of us again….

Don’t you see that Donald Trump putting a military aircraft at the disposal of his wife while denying the use of this publicly owned and financed plane by the people to Congressional Democrats is brazen act of childishness and an interference in legitimate government business? I would think less of the legislators if they take this lying down.
