French rapper Nick Conrad is facing criminal action over his latest music video ‘Hang The Whites’
It was filmed in Noisy-le-Grand, the eastern Paris suburb, and includes images of Conrad and a friend apparently torturing a victim, whose teeth are broken before he is hanged.
Conrad’s song is called “Hang the Whites” (Pendez les Blancs) and was viewed thousands of times on YouTube before it was removed on Wednesday – four days after its official release.
Protests since its release at the weekend included one from the French Interior Minister, Gerard Collomb, who said: “I unreservedly condemn these abject remarks and ignominious attacks.
“My team is working towards the immediate withdrawal of the content. It will be up to the judicial authorities to give the appropriate follow-up to these horrific appeals to hatred.”
