Green New Deal: Ocasio-Cortez aims to make air travel obsolete, aid those ‘unwilling’ to work…

In what may be the most far-reaching proposal to ever be considered in Congress, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., unveiled her “Green New Deal” on Thursday — a government-led overhaul of virtually every aspect of American life that would guarantee a host of taxpayer-covered benefits for all and phase out fossil fuels.

Along the way, her office says the plan would aim to make air travel obsolete, upgrade or replace every building in America to ensure energy efficiency and give economic security even to those “unwilling” to work.

“Today is the day that we truly embark on a comprehensive agenda of economic, social and racial justice in the United States of America,” she said alongside Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., and other lawmakers outside the Capitol. “That’s what this agenda is all about.”

The plan, which calls for a massive package of big-government proposals including health care for all, quickly picked up the backing of major 2020 Democratic presidential hopefuls including Sens. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Cory Booker, D-N.J. — who all co-sponsored the resolution.

“Our history is a testimony to the achievement of what some think is impossible — we must take bold action now,” Booker tweeted.

Pelosi’s spawn wants to replace air-travel with high-speed rail lines.  The dems will certainly rely on MoonBeam Jerry Brown for his expertise in implementing that scheme ( up to about $100 billion debt on California taxpayers ).  The scam also wants to eliminate all combustion-engine vehicles within 10 years, and replace them with clean electric vehicles….how that is to be done when Elon Musk can’t build enough Tesla’s now will be accomplished thru the miracle of central planning – those with no experience or ability but selected for political compliance.

And there’s only 12 years left to do it in!!!!!

High speed rail works in China, Japan, France, Germany but it can’t work here because conservatives say it can’t.  (That’s also the reason why gun control can’t work here.)  We can’t have Medicare for all here because conservatives know it can’t work.  Never mind that it works in so many other countries and quite well.  Just ask Rand Paul who went to Canada for their healthcare.

So many things won’t work in this country because conservatives know it won’t work.  No evidence to that effect but they know it for a fact.

So when does California have people actually riding their bullet train?  Any idee what the final cost of that will be?  Will they ever recoup the money spent on that thing?  Who’s going to ride it – the millions of illegals squatting in the SoCal ghettoes?  To the NoCal ghettoes?

Libturds regard open-ended expanding debt as sound fiscal policy, especially if they can steer the contracts to build the hi-speed rail to their political benefactors.   I’ll concede that that works in Libturd World….but in “this country”?  No evidence that it will work – and the fact that the current catastrophe in California can only be regarded by the nutjobs that it will work.  You know, up is down, left is right, front is back, hot is cold, etc. etc. etc.
