How ironic that Notre Dame should go up in flames as Holy Week begins. It is fitting that a week which commemorates the death of Joshua Ben Joseph should witness a ‘house of God’ being destroyed yet on the third day it is believed He was raised up again. So too will there be a resurrection of the iconic cathedral which thankfully has been preserved in the stone structure which was not damaged except for soot deposits. While many were brought to tears in France, so too were Europeans and people the world over but the shock is being replaced with resolve to rebuild the cathedral. Europe has experience at rebuilding after centuries of destruction brought about by wars and disasters.
The tears are temporary and will give way to resolve.
