Residents of the Bedouin village of Khan al-Ahmar in the West Bank received evacuation orders today, informing them they must leave voluntarily within a week, by October 1.
The Jahalin tribe originated in the Negev and was expelled to the West Bank in the 1950s. Since then, the residents wandered within the Jerusalem-Jericho region before gradually establishing permanent residence in Khan al-Ahmar, apparently in or around the 1970s, having been ethnically cleansed within living memory, they are being moved on again within occupied Palestine.
This is reminiscent of what happened to Jews when the Nazis occupied territory. The bitter irony is lost on Zionists today.
