The European Union (EU) Commission Vice President Frans Timmermans has spoken out against election posters seen around Hungary and the nationalist sentiment of the Hungarian ruling party. The false message of the posters is the claim that the EU is planning for unregulated migration into Europe from Muslim and African countries.
A phone box displays a billboards showing Hungarian-American financier George Soros and EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker above the caption “You have a right to know what Brussels is preparing to do!”, on Vaci Avenue in Budapest, Hungary, Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019. The Hungarian government has launched a new campaign targeting what it claims are efforts by the European Union leadership to organize mass migration into Europe, mainly by Muslims.
Frans Timmermans is himself a conservative but he says Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán is so far to the right that his party should be ejected from the conservative coalition in the EU parliament.
Orbán is among a handful of former East European Communist countries’ nationalist leaders who have little in common with traditional liberal West European countries which have been subsidizing to the sum of billions of euros the former economically deprived states. It looks like these former East European member states of the EU want to continue receiving generous grants while cultivating nationalism and opting out of progressive EU asylum standards. The Israelis are currently exploiting European nationalism oblivious to the history of Jewish genocide at the hands of European nationalists in the last century.
