“Disturbing” discovery: Giant hole found under Antarctica glacier

Researchers say a massive cavity the size of two-thirds of Manhattan was found under a glacier in Antarctica. The pocket is a sign of “rapid decay” and just one of “several disturbing discoveries” made recently regarding the glacier, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory said in a news release Wednesday….

“The findings highlight the need for detailed observations of Antarctic glaciers’ undersides in calculating how fast global sea levels will rise in response to climate change“

Climate change may increase congenital heart defects

Rising temperatures stemming from global climate change may increase the number of infants born with congenital heart defects (CHD) in the United States over the next two decades and may result in as many as 7,000 additional cases over an 11 year-period in eight representative states…

“Our findings underscore the alarming impact of climate change on human health…,” said study senior author Shao Lin, M.D., Ph.D., M.P.H., professor in the School of Public Health at University of Albany, New York. ”

The estimates in the current study are based on projections…as a result of global climate change.

How climate change is undermining the war against HIV in Africa

Teenage girls growing up in Lesotho in areas hit by harsh drought and other climate shocks are more likely to drop out of school, start having sex earlier and contract HIV, researchers say.

In a study looking at the link between climate change and HIV infection since antiretroviral (ARV) treatment drugs became widely available in Sub-Saharan Africa, researchers found that severe drought threatens to drive new HIV infections.

In the urban areas of Lesotho researchers looked at, droughts were linked to an almost five-fold increase in the number of girls selling sex and a three-fold increase in those being forced into sexual relations….

Woodstock voters to take action on global warming

Global warming is now real. Woodstock voters will decide on Town Meeting Day to tell the state to take action.

One of the articles on the Town Meeting warning is a non-binding resolution asking the state of Vermont to take greater action in curbing the threat of global warming. The Select Board approved the Town Meeting warrant on Jan. 15.

The article identifies extreme and erratic temperatures, severe storms, a rise in tick-borne diseases, and threats to farmers and maple sugar makers is a result of global warming. It acknowledges the state’s comprehensive energy plan but also claims the state is falling short of its goals.

The record freezing temperatures blanketing the Midwest and Northern states are breaking records. How cold is it? It’s so cold that for some it confirms just how bad global warming is.

No, that’s not a joke. As frigid, killing cold besieges Midwestern cities such as Chicago, newspapers,  and pundits repeat this foolishness that the warming climate is responsible for this record cold snap. They expect those of us who don’t know any better, or who fear being ridiculed, to swallow their climate-change propaganda whole.

“Chicago’s record for coldest temperature ever could fall as polar vortex has city ‘in the crosshairs’,” a Chicago Tribune headline said Wednesday.

Pretty straightforward. But then the “news” article says this: “This is the same weather phenomena that made the winters of 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 remarkably cold. And scientists say winters like these could become more common in the future due to climate change.”
That is, global warming makes the world both hotter and colder, simultaneously. It’s the new climate consensus among activists. It covers all the bases!

I’m posting news articles.  Anyone can evaluate the ‘facts’.

Most of the news articles attribute the problem/tragedy/crisis/calamity to “climate change”, which i think means “global warming”….. which the mass media has linked to CO2 levels rising due to fossil fuels.  Seems kind of politically biased to have so much reporting going one way….

Maybe NASA flipped….10 months after that report about the extreme melting in Greenlands Ice Sheet NASA Sees Climate Cooling Trend Thanks to Low Sun Activity

The climate alarmists just can’t catch a break. NASA is reporting that the sun is entering one of the deepest Solar Minima of the Space Age; and Earth’s atmosphere is responding in kind.

So, start pumping out that CO2, everyone. We’re going to need all the greenhouse gases we can get.

“We see a cooling trend,” said Martin Mlynczak of NASA’s Langley Research Center. “High above Earth’s surface, near the edge of space, our atmosphere is losing heat energy. If current trends continue, it could soon set a Space Age record for cold.”…..

The new NASA findings are in line with studies released by UC-San Diego and Northumbria University in Great Britain last year, both of which predict a Grand Solar Minimum in coming decades due to low sunspot activity. Both studies predicted sun activity similar to the Maunder Minimum of the mid-17th to early 18th centuries, which coincided to a time known as the Little Ice Age, during which temperatures were much lower than those of today.

If all of this seems as if NASA is contradicting itself, you’re right — sort of. After all, NASA also reported last week that Arctic sea ice was at its sixth lowest level since measuring began. Isn’t that a sure sign of global warming?

All any of this “proves” is that we have, at best, a cursory understanding of Earth’s incredibly complex climate system. So when mainstream media and carbon-credit salesman Al Gore breathlessly warn you that we must do something about climate change, it’s all right to step back, take a deep breath, and realize that we don’t have the knowledge, skill or resources to have much effect on the Earth’s climate. God — and that big yellow ball of light in the sky — have much more impact on our climate than we ever could.

Since it shows that the ‘thermosphere’ is losing energy (heat) then don’t you think that there would be a transfer of energy from the earths surface to replace that?  Heat moves to a colder area, so the area where the heat was becomes………cooler, not warmer.  And that is consistent with the comparison to the ‘Little Ice Age’ having cooler earth temps – not warmer.

Madam, you seem to have a fixation on preventing any knowledge to penetrate your cranium that conflicts with your prejudiced erroneous views and opinions.   Get help!!

CNN ran the story.  So did The Hill

Sounds bad, doesn’t it?  Manhattan is about 23 square miles. Two-thirds of that would be 16 square miles.  The glacier is about the size of Florida – 65,755 square miles.  So that means the hole in the glacier is about 0.01 percent of the entire glacier, and the water released from the melt will not even be measurable in the ocean.

Climate change. Or it might be due to the 140 volcanoes beneath the ice sheet.   And that has been known since at least 2014 Volcanic activity under Thwaites Glacier contributes to melting

Anyways, the brain-washed libturds will ignore the facts and rational analysis, and continue to echo the sky-is-falling-in-12-years hysteria.  Me? I’ll accept this explanation that relegates the ‘climate change’ fable once again to the trash heap of leftist socialistic propaganda.
