According to the web site Trivia Today 2.25 billion. . . that’s with a “B”, cups of coffee are consumed every day.

Talk about a caffeine high!

Thats a lot of coffee worldwide, so any idea what a lb of top quality ground coffee costs

I’m not sure we can buy coffee by the pound anymore. It’s one of those items that are put in ever smaller packages to keep the cost per package the same (size deflation).

I buy my coffee online. I almost exclusively make lattes at home (though my current espresso machine is a real piece of shit). I usually buy 5 pounds at a time and find it to be high quality and less expensive than gourmet coffees in the grocery.

My local food store is only 3 minutes walk away, and they were selling last week top quality Zoegas coffee at 19.95 swedish krona for 500 grams, thats about $1.98 a pound, very strong dark coffee, makes about 70 mugs of coffee
