Odds are you didn’t watch the video… You will never stop a person that is willing to give up his life to do mass killing… You can ban all guns and it will change nothing…

ParticipantCappy, in another thread you mentioned insurance for gun owners. That should be common sense though I’m sure gun nuts would disagree.
Much of our gun violence is by misuse of guns, allowing guns to be found by children, and other so called accidents. We require insurance on any automobile on the streets and those are designed for transportation. Guns are designed, with rare exception, to kill. There is a greater liability where weapons are concerned. There is no reasonable argument against a requirement for insurance. I’m sure Harpo will come up with an argument but I did say reasonable.

Why does a law or regulation have to prevent 100% of all crimes when it comes to gun control? Why should it be all or nothing?
For example, do we eliminate the TSA because some people will manage to carry contraband? Do we eliminate all US laws with regards to border crossings because some find a way to sneak in? Should we make cocaine or meth legal because some will find a way to get it in the black market?" Yep.
If private insurance gets involved, then politicians will listen. Corporations have more power than gun victims.
They will influence legislators to come up with effective gun control laws for the sake of their bottom line/profit margins." All tyrannies rule through fraud and force, but once the fraud is exposed they must rely exclusively on force. " — George Orwell.

We have all the gun laws that are needed… They just need to be enforced… Longer prison sentences would help also…I haven’t an idea what to do about the nut jobs…I will leave that up to you know it all gun grabbers…

How will longer prison sentence work when the gun terrorists are ready to die during their terrorist act. And most of them kill themselves after the act too.

We have all of the gun laws we need? Tell that to the 20 dead and their loved ones in El Paso and the 9 dead and their loved ones in Dayton.
The evidence of these past few hours plus the evidence shown time and again; Sandy Hook, Parkland, Las Vegas and oh so many more.
Your words are utterly ridiculous.

So, are you admitting gun laws will not work against a nut job willing to do a mass murder and doesn’t care about losing his life in the process?
No, longer prison sentence won’t be a deterrent against the above case but longer prison sentences will be a deterrent against bad guys using a gun to commit a crime…

ParticipantWhat are common sense gun laws? Are they going to pass common sense hammer laws, commonsense knife laws, commonsense truck.car laws, commonsense golf club laws? Instead of controlling inanimate objects, which do not commit violence, how about working on building character in children, based on religion and morality? Such children will not grow up to become people who commit any type of violence.
Why is it the gun grabbers never blame the person that pulls the trigger?

Gun laws should prevent easy access to guns. Some may still acquire guns? Sure. But lets make it harder and decrease the probability.
And if longer sentences will prevent some others from committing the crime. Sure. Let’s do that too. I take back my previous disagreement on that.
We will have to take a series of steps because there is not one silver bullet (pun unintended) that is a solution to end this problem." All tyrannies rule through fraud and force, but once the fraud is exposed they must rely exclusively on force. " — George Orwell.
