ParticipantThe Department of Agriculture has paid out $7,700,000,000 to farmers so far in aid designed to offset the negative impact from Trump's trade war, Reuters reports. https://t.co/i7oD5M1iHJ

ParticipantOnly in America can rich people keep telling poor people that socialism is bad and be cheered for it.

KeymasterClassic example of corporate welfare. Because most of that $7.7 billion went to agricultural corporations IMO.

ParticipantPence rips 2020 Democrats as ‘socialists,’ threat to freedom
Vice President Mike Pence took the administration’s war on socialism to CPAC Friday, warning that Democrats, even 2020 presidential candidates, want to trade American-made freedom for Venezuelan-style socialism.
…“Under the guise of Medicare for All and a Green New Deal, Democrats are embracing the same tired economic theories that have impoverished nations and stifled the liberties of millions over the past century. That system is socialism.”….
“It was freedom, not socialism, that gave us the most prosperous economy in the history of the world. It was freedom, not socialism, that ended slavery, won two world wars, and stands today as a beacon of hope for all the world. It was freedom, not socialism, that is moving us beyond the prejudices of the past to create a more perfect union and extend the blessings of liberty to Americans of every race and creed and color. It was freedom, not socialism, that gave us the highest quality of life, the cleanest environment on earth, and improved the health and well-being of millions around the world”….
“If we lay out a choice between freedom and socialism, the American people will choose freedom every time”…
+++++++++++++++++++
I think the strategy of the wacked-out socialist/communist democrats is to allow the headline media starlets ( Bernie, AOC ) to push for such extreme changes, that lesser changes will have a better chance of being implemented. The process of incremental subterfuge to ‘fundamentally transform’ the U.S. into a subservient gulag, ruled over by leftist twerkers – the failed (multiple times) style of ‘central planning’ by hack political appointees.
Dems are scum.

ParticipantBasil, you are giving Gruel facts and figures to back up those facts, neither of which he cares one iota about. For him it’s all denigrating anything that smacks of socialism unless it’s done by Republicans, such as the farm subsidies and the tax welfare given to the rich.
His posts display a psychotic bent.

ParticipantMadam lies again – i’ve never stated that ‘republican’ socialism is good, or that i’m in favor of ‘welfare’ for the rich or farm subsidies, ‘republican’ or ‘democrap’.
obamacare is an example of the failure of a democrap-sponsored welfare subsidy, as was the kenyans economy driving millions to sign up for FOOD STAMPS. Neither was needed – both incredibly mismanaged.
For the record, i’d like to see all subsidies for farmers growing corn for conversion to ethanol ended. Likewise for tobacco growers. No federal funds for states to use for sanctuary cities. No funding for looney ‘LBGT’/social justice freakshows. Fund only STEM-based education. No welfare for illegal aliens. No exemptions for Congress – whatever tax they subject us to, they should also pay. No subsidies for ‘green energy’ hustles – if it’s that good, then the free market would make it profitable enough so no subsidies would be needed.
One of the hardest subsidies to be suspended would be the tax deduction for mortgage payments that individuals can take advantage of. I’ve used it on each of the 3 houses i’ve bought. It’s dialed into the housing market to such an extent that eliminating it would be catastrophic.
The existing Medicare/Social Security programs aren’t going away – if anything, the dems want to expand them to hoodwink ‘voters’ into voting for them. Really responsible – build in a crisis that will occur after they gain political control.
And why does that little scandanavian stoat focus on U.S. welfare subsidies? The entire population, 100% of Sweden, is mandatorily obliged to participate – such is the ‘freedom’ that he hybernates within, whilst grousing about the U.S.
Wow – the triumvirate of loons that runs wild in their little doggy pack….right here on the forum with the greatest ‘integrity’ and ‘honesty’…… ( get a grip, stop laughing…hahahahaha).

ObamaCare was a great success in every aspect. Till it was sabotaged by GOP/Trump and is now TrumpCare with removal of crucial aspects like pre-existing conditions and increase in rates as the health care mandate was removed.

ParticipantIf the Republicans are successful in slapping the label of socialism on the Democrats, Donald Trump will get enough Electoral College votes to return him to the White House. This is because the population have been brainwashed over the years of the Cold War to equate capitalism with anti-communism. Thinking people do not dominate the electorates in many democracies, including the USA.
March 3, 2019 at 03:26 #11534Desert_Fox
ParticipantIt will be up to Democrats during the primary campaign and then the presidential campaign to attack Trump as viciously as he attacks them, but with logic and reality. They will need to show America that it is better to be part of the global community rather than to be isolationists.
The amount of people in the U.S. who currently support Trump are quite small and it will be on the Democrats to make sure that continues.

ParticipantNot forgetting that it is very easy to vote in many states without any ID whatsoever
The NCSL categorizes state-level voter ID laws as follows:[21]
Photo ID required (strict): Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin……..8 states
Photo ID requested (non-strict): Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Texas……..10 states
Non-photo ID required (strict): Arizona, North Dakota, and Ohio…3 states
Non-photo ID requested (non-
strict): Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Utah, Washington, and West Virginia…….14 states
No ID required to vote at ballot box: California, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Wyoming, and Washington, D.C.
16 states
So there are only 8 states that need voters to have photographic ID——and 10 more states that do not necessary ask for photo ID
and the remaining states do not have strict requirements for photo ID…….so that means anybody can vote with with somebody elses voting papers……….sounds more like how people vote in Uganda and another dozen countries Africa……USA you belong to the dark ages, wake up to the modern world

ParticipantIllegal voting is an extremely minor problem in the U.S. In spite of the Republicans claiming otherwise, illegal aliens voting is virtually non existent and multiple voting by an individual is about the same. In spite of Trump and the ultra conservative liars who claim voter fraud is rampant, it isn’t and what little there is seems to be done by Republicans more than anyone else.
I worry about lies being told and people believing those lies like what happened in 2016, but hopefully we will be more prepared for that in 2020.

KeymasterThe Democratic approach should not be cowardice, and try to push right of center/centrist to be the nominee – like the mistake they made with nominating Hillary.
Double down on social democrats. Social democrats are the only ones who could beat Trump’s fake populism.
Also among the Dems the GOP are viciously attacking those who fear the most. That would be social democrats (lower case “d”) like Bernie Sanders and AOC.
