ParticipantIt is not quite 7:00 pm Sunday evening, November 10, Veteran’s Day eve.
The following link is a list of free or discounted meals for military, active, retired and vets.
Additionally, the following is for Walgreens:

ParticipantI remember how the military were treated late in the Vietnam war. It was despicable.
Today it seems that the pendulum has swung considerably the other way. The military and vets are all but deified with organizations and individuals telling us how great the military are.
I disagree.
I enjoy that the military, past and present, are recognized for their service but I find it laughable how just because someone is or has served in the military that they are above the rest.
The military are humans, good, some great, a few are heroes. Some are ordinary and I would argue that most of those are ordinary individuals, not heroes, not great, just typical men and women sometimes doing a messy and/or dangerous job.
And unfortunately there are a few that are criminal in their actions whether that be crimes committed against the enemy, those civilians who live where the military are active, or even against our own citizens.
There is nothing unusual about that. That would be true any time you gather a group of people together in large numbers. You would have the good, the bad and the so so.
Is this meant to vilify the military? Absolutely not. I’m simply stating that we vets are ordinary people. Thank you for recognizing my service. Thank you for a free meal. (Texas Roadhouse for me with a free steak.) But I am not a hero, nor am I a devil. I am but an ordinary individual who has served a small portion of my life in the military.

ParticipantThank you Gary Sinise from this Vietnam vet!
Newt Gingrich: For Gary Sinise, Veterans Day comes every day – Actor has helped veterans for over 40 years…
As we all pause on Monday to honor the brave men and women who spend their lives protecting our freedom and security at home and abroad, I wanted to take time to also honor a man who has spent much of his life helping them.
Gary Sinise, who many of you may know for his portrayal of Vietnam veteran Lieutenant Dan in Oscar-winning film “Forrest Gump,” has devoted more than 40 years to supporting and advocating for America’s veterans. Having veterans in his own family, he grew up aware of the unique challenges that they face when they return from serving the country.

ParticipantIs the SockPuppet a veteran? What the hell has that little snot done that makes him think he has any credibility in his opinions?
Yeah – he spends his time rockin’ back & forth in some damned decrepit junked motor home, yanking on his little buckwheat. And he’s a long-term veteran at that, the only veteran experience he has.
Get a clue you faggoty maggot, your luv-affair with the lefty liars is going to end when the real criminals get nailed, not your delusional mischaracterization of Americans. You’re worthless, the worst poster on debatez. Go to hell, asswipe, and keep your head shoved up your own butthole permanently.

Is it true? Yes. If it’s true is it a cheap shot? No.
You, on the other hand are quite cheap. 😋

And so Harpo proves the point between partisan and patriot as he posts partisan bullshit.

From Wikipedia:
Although a staunch supporter of the Republican Party, Sinise refused to vote or show support for Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election. After Trump questioned McCain’s status as a hero because he was captured as a prisoner of war, Sinise rebuked Trump
A republican I can respect.
