I would guess (note that a guess is not stating things as factual but rather a supposition, unlike your many statements of bogus facts, implied and overt) that the first blow by Shuffield was retaliation and I can almost understand that, but the subsequent blows would appear to be far more than that. He was out to hurt her and hurt her bad from all indications.
I doubt that you can see that in spite of your imagined prescience.
